A new app from Logsat can save your sanity if you have teenage children or a suspicious nature. This app allows you to track your family’s whereabouts through GPS. It can actually tell you how fast your child or spouse is travelling in the vehicle as well as pinpoint their whereabouts. It is a good app for your family when you need that extra level of comfort.
Family Tracker uses email to track your family instead of SMS messages. Therefore, it doesn’t need your cell phone number only the email address. However, internet or Wi-Fi is required on the phone. It sends out a one-time-only email that asks for permission to locate. After this request has been accepted you can track at any time without gaining permission a second time. This works well because then your child can’t tell you that he didn’t receive the request.

Family Tracker uses a “Ping” notification. This sends out a message to a user on your Family Tracker that you are looking for them. Once they have viewed the message you get a notifications that the “Ping” was actually viewed. Once viewed the GPS automatically picks up the location and updates their status. However, if the message is not viewed or ignored the user will be continuously “Pinged” for up to six hours with a loud and annoying sound until the message is viewed.
Downfalls with this app are that it’s only available for IPhones, IPads, IPods and Androids. You also have to have a data plan for these phones. You do have to pay for this application. The upside to it is this; it is a one-time fee.
